| Barienger Brake |
The Barienger brake was used to keep sleds from running away on downgrades. The brake was tied to a sturdy stump, and a line from the sled was wound around through the pulleys. Pulling on the levers pressed the pulleys together to increase braking friction. (At the Leonard's Mills Logging Museum.)
