Clearing Saw |
Many forest stands, like gardens, need to be thinned. The trees may be to small to use for anything, and there may be thousands in each acre that need to be cut. The clearing saw, or brushcutter, looks like a grown up grass trimmer -- but it's much stronger. Basically, it's a pole with a strong harness to attach to the worker. On one end is a chain saw engine with up to 5 hp. On the other is a circular saw blade big enough to cut six inch saplings (with two cuts) if need be. It's an efficient way to provide healthier forests for the future.
