Sometimes the things that need loaded are not logs. Around a sort yard or mill yard there is always bark to dispose of. Traditional front end loaders are made to dump in a dump truck not a 14 foot high open top van truck. You either need a ramp (often used) or as shown here, a high tipping bucket. It's really a pretty clever design......
