This image is reflective the log prices in 1966 in Northwestern Oregon. This is about the time we began to second growth timber. Of course we had few if any trees at the time that would make #2, and making 12" of many was an issue as well. With a 10 wheel truck we could get a couple thousand feet on so we could gross $100 a load, if we were lucky. Our logs were all short since our trees then weren't that tall so we were in the $40 and $50 price brackets and only dreamed of the higher brackets.
