The Red-Tailed Hawk is the most common hawk in North America and is found virtually on entire continent. They are a large bird with a wingspan in the 4 to 5 foot range. There are some 14 subspecies of the Red-tailed hawk. The photos here were collected along Fort Rock Road in south central Oregon.
