The Northwestern Alligator lizard (E.c. principis) is one of 4 subspecies of the Northern Alligator lizard. The other 3 appear to be more endemic to California. This subspecies is liste for western Oregon, most of Washington, Northern Idiaho and into western Montana, as well the southern portion of canada west of Montana.
